Services & Programs
Supportive Services:
“Psychosocial counseling” Peer Counselors” help HIV infected women increase adherence to needed treatment, enhance their quality of life, independent living skills, and assist with their spiritual and mental health status. Providing Individual and group counseling and Enriched Life Skills. “Client Advocacy” clients receive “Peer support” case management and advocacy helping them to navigate medical systems and provides other needed “Transitional Housing” helps clients whom are homeless to acquire safe, secure and clean housing while permanent housing is located
Testing:
Free confidential pre and post test counseling, testing and referral services (CTRS) for sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B or C, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhea . Early detection is critical in battling any of these infections. Our counselors provide health, education risk reduction while helping clients to develop risk and harm reduction plans for the future. Client centered services are provided in office and on our community mobile van. Our outreach team are working the streets of our community five/six days a week. Community mobile van is available to participate in community events,
SISTA Project:
Peer Counselors Facilitate this group level project. SISTA is gender specific and culturally competent evidenced base curriculum designed to increase ethnic pride, decision making, coping and condom skills; focusing on HIV knowledge, and sexual risk reduction behaviors. SISTA is comprised of 5 sessions with two follow-up booster sessions including client incentives and certificates for completion.
Shelter Plus Care:
Provides permanent housing for women and their children who are infected with HIV/AIDS. Case management is also provided to assist clients in acquiring needed additional services and empowerment.
Re-Entry Services (PATH): (Peer Advocacy To Health)
Culturally competent and gender specific prevention and support services for women incarcerated or newly released living with or at risk of HIV infection providing a full array of transitional support services for female offenders up to pre release and upon release after they are in the community.
Support Groups:
Gender specific and culturally competent, confidential support groups include groups for HIV positive, Grief, Safer Sex and Women’s Rap
Saving The SISTA’s: 2nd Thursdays
Community Satellite Location for the Department of Parole & Probation. Making compliance obtainable.
Healthy Start:
Offering pregnant and post partum women, along with their families improved health and well being towards a healthy future.
